My name is Ignas Kutavicius. I was born in July 1985 in the city of Klaipėda, Lithuania. Surrounded by creative people since my birth and having a whole family tree full of designers, musicians and other creative people I was bound to become an artist as well. Since my teenage years I loved documenting everything and everyone around me with pictures. An occasional family event or just hanging out with friends - I was always there with a camera. At first it was just for keeping some fun memories for the future, but later it grew to become a way of expression and passion to create something new.
Digital photography and computer technologies introduced me to a high variety of powerful image editing software, making me interested in graphic design. This new interest led me to the University of Jönköping in Sweden, where I studied graphic and web design courses. After graduation I fell back to photography and started working with it professionally. Up to this day I have been working commercially with interior photography for real-estate agencies and interior designers and as a school photographer where I have shot yearbooks and classic portraits of children aged from 0 to 18 years old. Simultaneously I have also documented various events and festivals.
As an artist I am very curious to experiment and try new things. I take every chance in testing different technology, both modern and old. The style of my work can mostly be seen as retro, old fashion and grungy although I do sometimes clean things up and use precision. Together with my brother and a group of friends I help to run a non-governmental artist organization TEMA in Klaipėda, Lithuania.
